The Private Jet Climate Threat at Hanscom

Summary: The Private Jet Climate Threat at Hanscom

When: Mar 28, 2024
Time:23:00 - 00:30

Description

The planned expansion of private jet hangars at Hanscom Airfield in Bedford, MA could dramatically increase private jet traffic. Given that a private jet emits 4-15 times as much carbon per person as a commercial jet, this expansion alone could negate all the work that Massachusetts towns have been doing to tackle the climate crisis. As we breathe smoky air and see heat records break month after month, this expansion threatens us all.

In her presentation, Sabine von Mering provides details about the planned expansion and how citizens of Massachusetts are rising up in opposition to the project.
