Learn about two exciting options in Wayland to get affordable green electricity through Wayland Electricity Choice (www.waylandelectricitychoice.com) and Community Solar (www.pluginmetrowest.org). With these programs, you can save money and support clean energy. Wayland Electricity Choice is a group electricity buying program from the Town for residents and businesses. This is a hybrid event, join us in person at the Town Building or via zoom -- Register 

Participants in Wayland Electricity Choice get more electricity from renewable sources for a price that is lower than Eversource’s current residential Basic Service price. Residents can choose to opt up to 100% green or select the lowest cost Wayland Economy option.  Community Solar subscriptions offer all residents a way to save money on your electric bill and support our clean energy economy. Community solar works with Wayland Electricity Choice. We will review both programs, introduce you to local volunteer coaches, and have experts on hand for both programs. 

Hear about 2 Town Meeting articles on climate before our May 13-14 town meeting. One asks Wayland to join the other 34 MA towns that have adopted a more stringent energy code -- the Specialized Opt in Code. A second would authorize Wayland to enter into a long term agreemeent needed to include solar at the new Council on Aging building.
